bullet Welcome to the TCRN January Nexus
2016 has kicked off and the TCRN are looking forward to working with our members on delivering key projects and networking collaborations.

This month's Nexus kicks off by featuring the TCRN Cancer Challenge of the Year Lynch syndrome project, and their participation in COSA 2015. Dr Natalie Taylor convened a panel of researchers A panel convened by Dr Natalie Taylor brought together researchers, clinicians and consumer advocates from across the TCRN whose research interests are focused on screening, diagnosis and cancer prevention issues relating to Lynch syndrome.

Applications are now open for Conference & Professional Development Grants, Round 2 2016. Check out the priority themes and how to apply.

We highlight the valuable input of the TCRN Consumer Advisory Committee since its inception in 2012, as well as CAC member profile on Sue Suchy.

The Cancer Institute NSW grants calendar is now available with research equipment grants, early career fellowships and career development fellowships opening 15 February 2016.

Please note that all TCRN members are required to complete the TCRN annual reporting survey for the 2015 period (it takes less than a minute).

COSA TCRN members presenting Lynch Syndrome Takes Centre Stage at COSA 2015

The TCRN’s Lynch Syndrome research program was under the spotlight at COSA 2015, the recent annual scientific meeting of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia.

A panel convened by Dr Natalie Taylor brought together researchers, clinicians and consumer advocates from across the TCRN whose research interests are focused on screening, diagnosis and cancer prevention issues relating to Lynch syndrome.

The Cancer Institute’s 2016 Grants Calendar is now available with some grants opening from 15 February 2016.

One new change in 2016 will be the introduction of an online application process via the new Cancer Institute NSW Grants Management System.

CAC Member Sue Suchy CAC Member Profile: Sue Suchy

Since joining the CAC in 2013, Sue has engaged with a variety of projects being conducted by TCRN researchers, including a research team led by TCRN member Dr Nham Tran on a project to develop new techniques for the early diagnosis of head and neck cancers.
