Professor Jack Li of the College of Medical Science and Technology (CoMST) at Taipei Medical University is to visit the TCRN in July to help shape a new Bioinformatics course which is currently being developed by the TCRN and UNSW.

Professor Li will be working with Dr Jason Wong to develop a Translational Cancer Bioinformatics postgraduate course.

Professor Li has been a strong proponent and innovator in the creation of interoperable electronic health records, and his development of a national health information exchange for Taiwan led to his receiving a National Health Contribution Award, Taiwan’s highest honour for contributions to the nation’s health.

The TCRN looks forward to Professor Li’s involvement in developing the new bioinformatics course and the opportunity to learn more about his research into biomedical informatics which has had an international scope of influence.
