TCRN Grants

 

 The TCRN provides internal funding schemes to support the translational cancer research activities of TCRN Members who possess research interests aligned with the core strengths of the TCRN. Each funding opportunity is designed as an investment in our membership – strengthening research projects, facilitating opportunities for networking and collaboration, and enabling effective professional development in order to achieve realisation of the TCRN goals and objectives.


Cancer Challenge of the Year  

The TCRN provides up to $150,000 to fund one or two translational research projects designed to address a new cancer or generic problem related to cancer.

Clinical PhD Top-up Awards

The TCRN Clinical PhD Scholarship Top-up Awards are designed to enhance the translational cancer research capabilities of health, medical, allied health and nursing graduates undertaking a PhD whose research interests strongly align with the flagships of the TCRN. This will be achieved by promoting access to a strong foundation of research support services, including opportunities for professional development and the mentoring and expertise of experienced translational cancer researchers.

Conference & Professional Development Grants

Conference and Professional Development Grants are available to TCRN Members to expand and enhance their knowledge and skills in the area of translational cancer-related research, at both national and international levels. The TCRN provide two grant rounds annually, for conference attendance and professional development.

PhD Scholarship Top-up Awards

The TCRN awards a number of three-year,  two-year and one-year (final year) PhD Scholarship Top-up awards during the 2017 academic year to students who have received funding via a peer-reviewed, competitive scholarship through UNSW and UTS.

Research Grant Support

The TCRN is offering competitively awarded Research Grant Preparation Administrative Support exclusive to our members to assist with administrative efforts involved in putting together a grant application for the NHMRC or ARC in the area of translational cancer-related research or cancer care service delivery.
