Professor Jeffrey Braithwaite

TCRN role: Professor Jeffrey Braithwaite has an international reputation as a health services and systems researcher; he will provide leadership in the areas of Implementation Science and T3 research.

Professional and research interests: Professor Jeffrey Braithwaite is the Founding Director of the Australian Institute of Health Innovation and Director of the Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science at Macquarie University. His research interests are focused on health systems improvement, implementation science and patient safety. 

Career achievements: Professor Braithwaite is a visiting or adjunct Professor at Newcastle University, and University of Birmingham in the UK; University of Southern Denmark; University of New South Wales; and Honorary Senior International Research Fellow at the Canon Institute for Global Studies in Tokyo, Japan. He has over 600 publications to his name, including 400 refereed contributions, in journals such as the British Medical Journal, The Lancet, PLoS Medicine, and the International Journal for Quality in Health Care. He has presented and chaired at international and national events on more than 780 occasions, including over 75 keynote addresses, and has received nearly $60 million in research funding over the course of his career. He is a referee for 30 journals and health research bodies of Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
