Welcome to the TCRN newsletter for February 2014 with updates on activities and information on translational cancer research as well as key articles highlighting the work of TCRN members.
TCRN Cancel Challenge of the Year grant process for 2014 Cancer Challenge of the Year commences 10 February 2014

TCRN will hold a one hour information session on the 2014 Cancer Challenge of the Year grant application process at 10.30am on Monday 10 February 2014.
Location: the Michael Donnellan Room, Level 2, Radiation Oncology, POWH (High Street entrance)
The presentation slides, any questions and their answers with be posted on the TCRN website for those who cannot attend.
No RSVP is required.

New member of the TCRN in 2014; Professor Louise Ryan, UTS First member for 2014 brings biostatistics expertise to TCRN

A biostatistician with a focus on statistical methods research, Professor Louise Ryan will become the first new member of the TCRN for 2014. Ryan is a highly acclaimed biostatistician and a specialist in statistical methods research. She has spent the majority of her career at the Harvard School of Public Health and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in the USA, and currently holds dual positions at the University of Technology and CSIRO.

TCRN Membership Statistics for 2013 TCRN Membership Statistics 2013

The TCRN has now completed its' annual membership data collection as part of the reporting requirements for the Cancer Institute NSW. This process requires all members to complete a short online survey.
Thank you to all the members who participated in this significant annual review process; this has allowed the TCRN to accurately record our membership data for the year.

Education in Implementation Science Community of Practice- workshop registration Are you interested in learning more about translating evidence into practice?

TCRN members are invited to attend one hour introductory session with international expert Professor Jeremy Grimshaw from the Centre for Practice- Changing Research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, Canada, to learn more.
This event is being organised by the Education in Implementation Science Community of Practice, funded by the Cancer Institute NSW.

Thursday 6 March 2014, 9:00am – 10:00am

The Australian Technology Park, Eveleigh.
