TCRN started in 2011 with just 68 members, with the vision of creating a sustainable cancer translational research engine. Early in 2012, the first of three TCRN Collaboration Surveys was launched, to capture the relationships that the network was fostering, identify the key players in the TCRN and to unpick some of the roles that the leadership council members were playing.

Under the TCRN’s 2025 Cancer Workforce and Capacity Building flagship, the TCRN organised a PhD Career Pathway Workshop in collaboration with the Implementation Science Community of Practice, a half-day intensive workshop for doctoral students in fields relating to cancer research.
